We are going to do some actual research with this Lab Exercise (just like in your journal articles).

This Lab Exercise is 10 pages long, but please don't get overwhelmed by that. Here is your biggest HINT: Pretend that this Lab Exercise is just one page long because once you figure out the first page, the other pages are a repeat (but with different values).

I'm expecting you to ask questions via e-mail. It is important to get accurate results here. If you are confused, don't just guess. Read through it and it may take 10-15 minutes to figure things out on the first page. I would encourage you to send me your first page via e-mail to verify that you are doing things properly.

Read through the Instructions at the PDF above and then look over one of the blank Station Data Sheets. Based on the first letter of your last name, please click on your 10 GPS stations below and fill in the blanks on your Station Data Sheets. You might want to write down your 10 stations on a scrap piece of paper first (the station data links are below). Scroll down to find the links.

Click on the link on the left or the right-- whatever works best for you. Try them both if you want.

Please be aware that if you use the Excel format, your Excel app might restrict the number of rows to 5,000. If you come up with a value that is exactly 5,000, then you will know that there are actually more rows than that. You will either need to turn that restriction off in your app or you will need to use the "comma separated values" instead (to get accurate answers for letter B and letter C).

I am giving you the answer for letter A below, but you need to be aware that if you come up with 5,000, then the values that you plug in for letters B and C will be inaccurate. So pay attention if letter A is shown in red below.
